It’s once again time for our annual Crafting for Community interactive workshop. March is National Craft Month and Women’s Heritage Month, let’s celebrate both by doing a craft the benefits women in our community. This March we will get together to learn how to make jewelry using simple materials such as buttons, beads, string, and ribbon.
Creating jewelry is a fun way to establish a second stream of income and/or make inexpensive gifts for yourself and others. In this gathering we’ll teach you how to make button jewelry and we’ll help the local community by donating many of the creations to Deborah’s Place which serves women experiencing homelessness. You may attend one or both sessions. Please bring $1 and whatever refreshments you want to enjoy. No alcoholic beverages allowed.
Who can attend:
This event is open to everyone! UIC students, staff, and members of the Chicago community are all welcome to join.
RSVP is required two business days prior to the session you plan to attend so we can ensure we have enough materials.
